New Parents Needed Wills To Protect Their Children
As first-time parents, Amelia and Michael were navigating uncharted waters, considering the responsibility of parenthood and the need to plan for the unexpected.
Through thoughtful discussions and leveraging our experience, we assisted Amelia and Michael in reaching a decision on the appointment of legal guardians for Ethan. This critical step ensured that in the absence of both parents, someone they trust would assume the responsibility of caring for their child.
The couple also considered and formalised at what age Ethan would inherit their assets. Additionally, decisions were made on who would oversee and manage the financial aspects until Ethan reached the specified age, ensuring a smooth transition of wealth.
To supplement the will, a letter of wishes was created. This document provided a personalised and heartfelt guide for Ethan's upbringing, covering aspects such as values, education, and any other specific wishes that were important to Amelia and Michael.
We also “future-proofed” the Wills to account for not just Ethan but any future children.
Crafting new wills for first-time parents involves more than just legal formalities; it's about addressing the unique challenges and uncertainties that parenthood brings, something their consultant as a parent themselves understood.
